Does anybody know how to get a replacement spindle for a dvd-rom drive?
The spindle (or whatever the heck it's called...the small round part that the disc clicks onto in the center of the drive) on my computer's dvd-rom drive is conspicuously missing since the other person living with me has been using it pretty heavily. My machine is a Gateway 7510GX laptop if that helps. My biggest problem is now I have no way of installing CD or DVD based software on my machine and I need to be able to reinstall Windows XP in an emergency. HELP! Does anybody know how to get a replacement for the missing part or do I have to replace the entire drive?Does anybody know how to get a replacement spindle for a dvd-rom drive?Go to an independent repair shop and show them what you need.
