How is the investment return on partial Hardiplank siding replacement, as compared to doing the whole house?

I live in Atlanta, and 3 sides of the house are already Hardiplank and in good condition. The front of the house is half-height brick, with the top half cedar shingles. which are in poor condition, due to weathering and squirrel chewing (from lower roofs). I am considering Hardiplank replacement of the cedar, which would cost around $2500, and I understand that replacement has a good ROI, but does this hold true for small projects, too? I may move in a few years or so.How is the investment return on partial Hardiplank siding replacement, as compared to doing the whole house?Hardiplank would likely be best option especially for resale. Would also eliminate squirrel problem and provide better weather protection. How is the investment return on partial Hardiplank siding replacement, as compared to doing the whole house? You will get a good return on investment. Actually, ROI's are used for renovations, not repairs such as you are doing. Still worth the money though.
