How much does a replacement retainer cost?

Well... the big day is coming up! I'm getting my braces off in about two weeks *jumps for joy* i'm going to have a wire retainer on the top and a bonded on the bottom, so if i lost the top, how much would it cost to replace it? Also, have you heard of the evertain retainer replacement program, is it worth it to buy? Any tips for taking care of the retainer would be nice!

thanks so much!

  • How much does a replacement retainer cost?the upper one would cost between 200-400 to replace depending on:

1 - where you live - some regions (west coast, new england) are pricier than others (midwest, southeast)

2 - how much money your dentist is trying to get for something that basically costs him maybe $80 or so in overhead.

3 - whether or not you get it from the same guy/gal who did it in the first place. if they have your records, and your teeth havent' moved, it saves a few bucks.

So the evertain deal...this is well and good if you figure you're going to A - move around a lot and won't have access to your dentist/orthodontist (see point 3 above) and B - figure on losing your retainer a lot. it's like insurance. If you don't live in a region w/ floods, don't get flood insurance.... i fyou live in New Orleans.....

since you're anticipating losing the darn thing (and you haven't even gotten the braces off yet!) AND you move away, maybe not a bad idea. otherwise, don't sweat it.

oh, and don't NOT wear the retainer, dear... your teeth are lazy slobs (figuratively speaking!) and they are like deadbeat boyfriends that sit on the couch eating chips all day.... they WILL go back to where they were if you don't keep 'em in line!

best of luck! How much does a replacement retainer cost?i have a retainer, and i had to replace it, not because i lost it, but because my dog ate it, no joke. When they give you the reatiner, you will probably get a case for it. and when your eating, or whatever your guidlines are for wear time, keep it in the retainer case. If something does happen, it will probabbly cost 100 dollars to replace, at least mine did.

And to keep care of the retainer, bush them every time you brush your teeth, witch is hopefully 2-3 times a day, and brush the roof of your mouth cuz food pices can get stuck and land on your retainer.

ive never heard of the replacement program, but if you keep care of it, you dont even need it.How much does a replacement retainer cost?lab fees for a retainer are about sixty so i'd imagine with the fees of your orthodontic provider around 100-150
