How much of a meal may you eat before asking for a replacement due to a mistake with the food?

If I eat a meal at a restaurant that was prepared incorrectly or has some problem with it that requires me to send it back and have it remade, how much of that meal may I eat before sending it back for a replacement? Can I eat 1/4 and still expect a free replacement, or maybe eat 1/2 or 3/4 of it?How much of a meal may you eat before asking for a replacement due to a mistake with the food? You should know upon observation or within the first bite or two if your meal was prepared correctly or not and then immediately notify your server. Reputable establishments are more than happy to fix it for you if you let them know right away, and in a nice manner. You don't eat a third and then decide it isn't right and expect a replacement order. How much of a meal may you eat before asking for a replacement due to a mistake with the food?Does this really happen to you that often? How much of a meal may you eat before asking for a replacement due to a mistake with the food?Well as soon as you notice that something is wrong with the meal you should send it back, usually this will be near the start of the meal. If you have already eaten 3/4 of it, i would expect a refund possible or a free dessert...would you really want to eat another whole serve of the meal? How much of a meal may you eat before asking for a replacement due to a mistake with the food?I would say about one bite from each part of the meal. For example, if you have a steak with potato and vegetable, it is conceivable that you might take a bite of the potato and a bite of the veggies before you take a bite of the steak and discover that it is over or undercooked. If the first bite, from one end of the steak, seems to be overcooked, it is conceivable that you might cut the steak in half and sample one bite from the middle which is usually rarer. If the edge is undercooked, you would not expect the middle to be more cooked.

You'd be pushing it to expect a replacement at 1/4. Some restaurants might do it one time, but the second time you ask, you may be shown to the door.

If you asked the second time at MY restaurant, I'd figure you for a moocher and apply my foot to your rear end as I showed you the door to the alley.

Good luck with that. How much of a meal may you eat before asking for a replacement due to a mistake with the food?My boss goes with the 1/2 rule. If they ate more then half of the meal, and then complained, we still charge them.

At the point that you were able to eat most of the plate, and didnt say anything when the server asked how everything is, he considers it the customers mistake as much as the kitchens.

We have an older couple that always complain their steaks are overcooked and they want it off their bill. It wouldnt be a big deal except it happens everytime. First she complains, but wont allow you to remove the plate. After they both finish everything on the plate, all of a sudden the steak he devoured was also bad..so they should both get the meals for free. And then, to thank you, they leave a dollar each. How much of a meal may you eat before asking for a replacement due to a mistake with the food? That is entirely up to the management. If it wasn't prepared correctly, you should know within the first bite.

I personally have turned down having to remake an order, simply because the customer had already eaten half of it.How much of a meal may you eat before asking for a replacement due to a mistake with the food?Approximately two bites. How many more would it take for you to notice your food is not cooked correctly. Then when you alert the server they should have it prepared properly and redelivered. If you wait until you have eaten more than half and are now finished eating because you are now full then you shouldn't get a refund.

If after one bite then you notice (eg. raw chicken) you will should still get a refund. If it is edible (eg. cheeseburger which is a hamburger) then if you eat most they will be like; %26quot;but you eat it anyway%26quot; or %26quot;can't be that bad if it's down to that size%26quot;.
