I personally think that the SS card is one of the stupidist around - you are not supposed to carry it with you and can't use it for ID, but are supposed to whip it out when you apply for a job. The IRS and SS should have been matching numbers all along and employers should be able to just type it in for approval. Waste time looking for the card, then waste a couple of hours in the SS office getting a replacement. Question about getting a replacement social security card?
When you turn in the form for a replacement social security card how long does it take them to give you a new one? Can they make it right on the spot for you, or do they have to mail it to you?
